Yesterday I officially graduated from university. It's been the quickest three years of my life, but I'm so thankful for all the friends I've made, and what I've learned along the way. Never did I imagine that I would be where I am now, being back in college three years ago watching all my friends apply for university around me, I just didn't know if it was going to be for me.
I've always enjoyed learning and education, but I wasn't sure if after fourteen years of solid education, that I wanted to add another three onto that. With not much other idea of what I was going to do and the pressure to have experience and qualifications I decided to take my chance and head to university before the tuition fees were to rise the following year.
Today I can say that I've proudly graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with honours in Digital Graphics, and on Saturday I leave home forever to head back up to Edinburgh officially, and have a home to call my own, and soon to be starting placement as a designer, and I've never been more excited, yet apprehensive all at the same time.
The ceremony was good fun after many nerves before hand, but once the formalities were over, the hat throwing could begin..
The video cuts off just after I realise I've managed to throw my hat five rows forward and there was much confusion and 'oh no's!' shouted in an attempt to get it back..I did get someone's hat back, but it was a good three sizes big for me, so I'm not sure who got my tiny head hat back but oh well!
Afterwards we all headed home to enjoy a family party and BBQ (despite the rain!) and just generally had a really lovely day. I meant to take a photograph of all the wonderful decorations my mum put up and made for me, not to mention the food! But the whole day was just so busy dashing about all over the place..and eating a bit too much dessert (what, me?) I completely forgot!
To anyone else graduating with my this week..congratulations! Let me know about your big day in the comments, I'd love to hear about it.
