Saying Goodbye

For our last day in Edinburgh together before coming home for the summer, me and Luke quite rightly spent it eating cake, and relaxing with friends in the sunshine. It really was such a lovely day, in all aspects (not just the cake!) We had a spontaneous BBQ on the Meadows there with friends, to say goodbye, and stayed there into the evening enjoying good food, laughter, and our own little live performance from the people sat next to us who were signing and playing wonderful acoustic covers, I hadn't felt so peaceful and relaxed in ages. It really was the little pick me up I needed.

The odd looking 'cake' you can see in the second photograph is actually called Hungarian Chimney cake, and it was cinnamon flavored, sort of crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside, either way, it was really tasty! And I always love tasting different cultures food, so that was a nice little insight.

I wore my Topshop floral dress, Dorothy Perkins boots with M&S leggings (soon to be rolled up after that photograph was taken as it was boiling!) with my New Look spiked necklace, and bag from Ebay.

Then it all ended with the most gorgeous sunset you can see in the final photograph which I took from the flats living room window, it's the perfect place to just perch and watch each night, and that one was truly special.

ps. I recently made a facebook page for my blog, so please head over and give it some love here

Hidden Gems: Vintage Shopping

Finally catching up on blogging now that I'm free from exams, I'm super excited to share this post with you, and had such fun exploring the land of vintage shopping and getting lost in rails of what really felt like time travel, from the 1940s, the swinging 60's and 70's, up to 2000.

In Edinburgh there is a gorgeous shop on Grassmarket called Armstrongs, and if you've never been, you really need to! I got lost in there for hours scouring the rails for a perfect vintage dress or coat (sadly I couldn't choose!) trying on a million different hats just because I could, and just all round having fun in doing so.

Everything was extremely reasonably priced, with the most expensive item I found in there being £85 for a wedding dress, but mainly items ranged between £15 to £25. I did find some other vintage shops along my way, but this was definitely my favourite. It really is like Aladdin's Cove inside, it looks tiny on the outside then when you go in it just goes on forever! And as you can see from the photos, they even had a huge Egyptian fake mummy tomb in there, because well..why not.

Have you ever had much look vintage shopping? It's definitely more of a big city kind of thing, but seeing little boutiques pop up where I'm currently living in England is nice and refreshing to see, and don't forget there is always charity shops for a good vintage bargain if you look closely enough!
